Tourism soars in 2024
The Costa del Sol and wider Malaga province has closed off 2024 as the best year for tourism on record.
Key figures published this month show
- Malaga province 14.4 million tourists
- 474,000 more (3.17%) than previous period
- tourist spend exceeded 21.2 billion euros
- 10.9% more than in 2023
“It has been an extraordinary year” said Turismo Costa del Sol president Francisco Salado while presenting the figures from the past 12 months.
The United Kingdom provided the most visitors – 1,183,629 – a 7.2% increase.
This was followed by Germany with 341,568 (12.8% increase), France, the Netherlands, Ireland with an impressive 19.9% increase and 26.1% increase in visitors from the United States.
In the grounds
You’ll find a plaza with spectacular dining table beneath a pergola, barbecue grill, and a lounge area, perfect for social gatherings under the evening sun.
The studio building opens onto the plaza and houses two more guest bedrooms that share a large bathroom with dual sinks and a shower.
Ascending a few stairs you reach the third outhouse, where another bedroom with an ensuite bathroom.
The media room has high vaulted ceilings and an open fireplace, providing a cozy space for movie nights, with twin sofas and an 82-inch TV. During the day it makes a great place to relax, read or play board games.
Further along you find an enchanting bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and floor-to-ceiling French windows that extend the bedroom onto a cozy balcony with garden views.
There are also quarters of the live-in maid, who is on hand to service the property daily.
Underneath the media room is the first of three bedrooms with a beautiful glass wall facing the garden. The second and third bedrooms are interconnected, ideal for families or guests who prefer a more connected living arrangement. The third bedroom also features a kitchenette and two beautiful windows overlooking the grounds of the property.
Pool and gym
The vast saltwater pool spans 8×16 metres and is surrounded by luxury sun beds and a picturesque pergola. The fifth and final building by the pool contains a workout room with gym equipment, perfect for yoga, meditation, functional and cardio workouts, and any other wellness activities guests desire.
