Marbella Golf Courses

The south of Spain is a highly popular golf destination, with Andalusia alone boosting over 100 different golf courses. Marbella is one of the sport’s hotspots, particularly known for it’s amazing mountain and sea views as you’re enjoying your golf. Here’s a bit of a closer look at some of the best Marbella golf courses in our eyes here at Luxury Villas Marbella. For a large number of these courses you can book your tee time online and in advance, so you can decide which golf course you want to use before you even leave your holiday villa. Don’t forget we can also help with all aspects of your extra activities and services during your stay – from transfers to pampering, entertainment, sports and tours.

The Marbella Club Golf Resort has a simple but stylish design, and the stunning 18 hole course was designed by Dave Thomas. It’s based in the hills of Benahavis in the heart of the Costa del Sol, and boosts spectacular views of Gibraltar, the Coast of Africa, the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding mountains.  It avoids overcrowding with limited play and twelve minutes between tee times, so it’s a relaxing game.

Set beside the Mediterranean Sea, the Villa Padierna Golf Resort enjoys an beautiful atmosphere with state of the art facilities and a personalised service. The resort has three different courses with different features: Flamingos Golf, Alferini Golf and Tramores Golf.  In addition there is the Villa Padierna Michael Campbell Golf Academy—the only specialist school in Europe in the short game and private classes.

15 kilometres from Marbella is Calanova Golf Club; an 18-hole, par-72 of 5.866 metres long and has been built according to USGA rules and regulations. It includes amazing views, including Mediterranean Sea and Mijas Mountains at almost every hole. What Calanova really pride themselves on though is hospitality, putting the golfer at the heart of their ethos.

Situated between La Cala de Mijas and Fuengirola, Santana Golf Course and Country Club lies right next to the Mediterranean sea with breathtaking views of the Mijas mountains. The course is set in 138 acres of picturesque parkland, formerly an avocado plantation. It was sympathetically designed by the architect Cabell B. Robinson who aimed to provide a natural solution to any problems. The result is wide and well-defined fairways on easy to walk terrain with water features to compliment the views.
