Castellar – animal rescue

The Castellar Zoo, an animal rescue centre, is a private initiative started since 1998, which officially opened in 2002 in order to aid animals which were seized by the authorities. These are animals that were the victims of the black market and were mistreated and neglected. The purpose of the rescue centre is to provide the animals with better living conditions by the best carers. You can get hands on with baby animals, big cats, birds of prey, snakes, deer etc. A wonderful, enriching family day out.
